THE-WRITE-STUFF
Our Playwriting Competition for youth ages 12-19
Taking place annually, The-Write-Stuff offers mentoring, dramaturgical feedback, and a staged reading with professional actors to all short-listed plays, as well as a $500 cash prize to the winning entry.
It plays a critical role in training and supporting upcoming creators in Québec; unlike other youth playwriting competitions, it provides playwrights with ongoing development and support, helping to steward their works off the page.
Calls for submissions take place every spring, with selected playwrights development support over the summer. The-Write-Stuff ends with a public staged reading, Park N’ Play, at the end of September.
“My experience with Infinitheatre’s contest was incredible. They were very welcoming. The dramaturgy session really helped deepen my work and opened my eyes to new possibilities. I also like the care they took in choosing the actors for the reading. I definitely hope to engage with their future works as they are a splendid company.”
